We welcome Professor Greg Hall from Brookhaven National Laboratory (USA) who has will be undertaking a sabbatical visit with our group from May to July 2015. We look forward to doing some collaborative research on molecular spectroscopy during Prof Hall’s visit.
Jason Gascooke gave an invited talk on current research methods at the South Australian Science Teachers Association’s (SASTA) annual conference held at Brighton Secondary School. For the International Year of Light, Jason discussed research in the lab and how we use spectroscopy to generate our 2-dimensional data images. The images give insight into the motions that molecules undergo and also can be viewed as artworks where the molecule is the artist.
Building works on the new lab have been completed to a stage that allows us to move in. After many years of planning, the time for packing up everything from the old lab and moving to the new, purpose-built lab has finally come. Ah, the joy of moving lasers and optics tables…
